How to Make a Tattoo From Card and Perfume

Having a tattoo on your body is a great way to express yourself, but it can be difficult to find the time or the money for a professional tattoo. A temporary tattoo using perfume is an easy and inexpensive alternative that will give you the look of a tattoo without the pain-stacking process.

You can find all the materials you need to make a perfumed tattoo in any craft store. A simple stencil made from card and a few sprays of perfume can be used to make a temporary tattoo on your skin.

Step 1: Choose a design

The first thing you will need is a paper stencil. You can buy one at the craft store, or simply print a design online. Regardless of the method you use, be sure to make your design as large as possible so that it will fit on your skin.

Next, coat the stencil in a layer of perfume that is preferably cologne or Eau de Toilette in strength. Perfume has a higher alcohol content than water, and it’s this alcohol that helps to transfer the image of your stencil onto your skin.

Step 2: Make a sketch

Now, you will need to get the design of your dream tattoo printed out and printed on paper that is at least A4 size. Ideally, you should also use high-quality printing paper for your temporary tattoo, as the poor quality will ruin the design when soaked in perfume.

Once you have the design, it is a good idea to put a little bit of baby powder on it to help it stick. This will help it last longer and keep the ink from running when you are washing your hands.

Step 3: Apply the design to your skin

Now you will need to carefully place the design on the area of your skin that you want to tattoo. Don’t move it, though, because it could smudge or splatter the ink around. You will need to hold it firmly for about 2 minutes, which should ensure that the ink is well-placed on your skin.

Step 4: Soak the design in hot water

The next step is to soak your sketch in hot water for 3-5 minutes. It is important that you do this because the hot water will help to soften the paper and turn it into a pliable stencil that can be shaped to your skin.

Repeat this procedure several times to make your tattoo permanent and long-lasting. You can even use hairspray, which will harden the tattoo and make it less likely to fade or peel.
